Sa mga gustong o magbabalak mag-self repair ng kanilang mga computers, here are some basic reminders before opening your System Units (a.k.a. CPU):

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the convenience outet (saksakan ng kuryente). Pwede kasing magkaroon ng static charges while you are moving, replacing or touching part of your system unit. You might render your computer unusable instead of getting it repaired.
  2. Handle each part with care. These are electronic parts which are sensitive to minor electronic charges.
  3. When you need to remove some parts for the first time. Have them labeled so you would know where to put it back.
  4. Do not tighten the screws to hard you may put too much stress to your system parts.
  5. Have a small notebook and a pen with you so you can take notes while doing your own troubleshooting. Documenting may help you and other people who may experience the same problem. They may benefit on it if you found a solution.
